Bringing Meeple Perk Home...

This sounds like I'm going to talk about games again today doesn't it?

Well you'll be shocked to hear I some times talk about coffee and drinks! Or maybe you won't.

So today's blog is talk about recreating some of your favourite drinks at home, to enjoy with a nice board game or watching a movie. I'll be writing a short recipe and recommending some different ways you could make the drinks if you don't have a coffee machine at home!

London Fog

A delicious sweet hot milk tea drink, made with Earl Grey tea.

Ingredients:

1 Earl Grey Teabag (We use Puro Fairtrade Earl Grey)

Milk (Any, even non-dairy!)

30ml Vanilla Syrup (Alter this to your desired taste, if you like it less sweet or your cup is smaller use less)

Recipe:

Boil the kettle and steep your Earl Grey teabag for 1-2 minutes (depending on the strength of the Earl Grey taste you prefer) in about 60ml water.

Heat milk, preferrably in a pan on the hob, to between 65C and 70C or if you're lucky enough to have a coffee machine follow these steps instead:

Fill your jug with about 2/3 the amount of milk required to fill your cup. Then airated the milk for 3 - 4 seconds and heat to between 65C and 70C.

Or use a microwave and heat in 15 second intervals, stirring each interval till the milk is heated. This method will avoid scolding your milk. I would also recommend allowing your milk to reach near room temperature before heating (if you can).

Add Vanilla syrup and top with milk, then enjoy!

Copenhagen Fog

A delicious drink created by one of our wonderful community members, this drink is the same as the delicious London Fog but made with Breakfast Tea and topped with Cinnamon.

Ingredients:

1 Breakfast Tea Teabag (We use Puro Fairtrade Breakfast Tea)

Milk (Any, even non-dairy!)

30ml Vanilla Syrup (Alter this to your desired taste, if you like it less sweet or your cup is smaller use less)

Cinnamon powder, to top

Recipe:

Boil the kettle and steep your Breakfast Tea teabag for 1-2 minutes (depending on the strength of the Breakfast Tea taste you prefer) in about 60ml water.

Add Vanilla syrup, pour in your hot steamy milk and top with Cinnamon powder.

Chai Latte

A delicious sweet and spicy hot milk drink which can be made a variety of ways but here's what we recommend!

Ingredients:

1 Chai Teabag (We use 30 ml Chai Syrup at the cafe but that can be hard to find)

Milk (Any, even non-dairy!)

30ml Vanilla Syrup (Alter this to your desired taste, if you like it less sweet or your cup is smaller use less)

Cinnamon powder, to top

Recipe:

Boil the kettle and steep your Breakfast Tea teabag for 3-5 minutes (depending on the strength of the Chai Tea taste you prefer, we recommend at least 3 minutes) in about 60ml water.

Add Vanilla syrup, pour in your hot steamy milk and top with Cinnamon powder.

NOW! If you want to "dirty" or "smog" up some of these delicious drinks all you need do is add espresso, 1 shot/25ml in a smaller cup and 2 shots/50ml in a large mug.

And there you have it, a wonderful piece of Meeple Perk at home!
