Weekly Update - 5th August 2021

It's time once more for the weekly update! Hope you guys are all doing well and playing plenty of games! We have some repeats from last week's updates in as well, just as they were worth mentioning once more now we're in August!

New opening times!

As of this week, and throughout the rest of August we shall be opening Wednesday and Thursdays 11 am - 7 pm due to increased interest and the summer holidays! We will then have a look and revise this for September and onwards!

Family Bookings

Throughout August we will be running a Family Package Deal! A family of 4* can visit to play games for up to two hours and get a drink each for just £15. To claim simply mention "Summer Hols" in the notes of your booking! *At least one adult must be present with up to three children under the age of 16.

Policy change regarding quarantining of games

We have been keeping up with the science and have made the decision to change how we Quarantine games. Games that are just card-based games will now be only be quarantined for 24 hours before being put back out for people to play. Games with any level of plastic or wooden piece will be quarantined for either 48 hours with a clean after, or 72 hours. This is based on research from the CDC: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/more/science-and-research/surface-transmission.html

Social Gaming

Social Gaming is on again this week in the cafe and we're asking people to sign up via the website just to keep things as safe as possible. There's a post on #social-gaming regarding this.

A reminder Social Gaming is back this week! Just book a spot using the Social Gaming Booking (you have to scroll down a little on the booking page to see it). No deposit required, just securing your spot!

Weekly Update - 21st July 2021

Hey everyone and welcome to the Weekly Update! This is something we've been doing on the Discord Server but now we are bringing it over here as well. It's where we check-in and just let everyone know what's going on at your friendly neighbourhood board cafe.

Changes in the Cafe

So, with "Freedom Day" out of the way, we are putting the game collection back out across the cafe as we had it before lockdown and opening up another table upstairs that has been covered with games!

Table Booking Changes

We will also be changing up table bookings closer to what we had before lockdown. Table bookings will now require a £5 non-refundable deposit total, which will come off the bill at the end of the session. The hope is to make it easier than ever to book in advance to come play games once more in the cafe!

Children gaming at Meeple Perk

Children 10 or under now can game at Meeple Perk for half the price!

Social Gaming

For those of you who have missed social gaming in person, we are going to look to return this to the cafe. Our first social gaming will be on 30th July from 6 pm until 9 pm. We will be limiting social gaming to 6-8 people (Either two tables of 4 or one table of 6) and will require people to book ahead via our website. More on this coming soon!

RPG Bookings

Wanting to run an RPG Game at Meeple Perk for your friends? Well, we have just the thing for you! Group bookings for RPG sessions!

We have two packages, Standard and Deluxe for you to choose from.

The Standard package is £25 for a 3-hour session for up to 6 people and includes a small hot/iced drink or soft drink for everyone.

The Deluxe package is £35 and includes the same as Standard, but also adds snacks! Chips + Dip, Onion Rings + Dip, Nachos and Homemade Chicken Strips or Falafel Bites + Dip.

We'll be announcing when this is available shortly.
